Area Police
Roughly 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Cars, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they reported in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.
The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.
Police then found multiple other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement state initial examinations suggest the liquid was likely human blood.
"Currently there is no indication as to its source; authorities are currently not cognizant of any injuries in connection with the event," they commented.
Municipal representatives said they were working "to solve the incident" and have requested to the public for information.
An important representative said the attack made him stunned and had to be addressed rapidly.
"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on online, mentioning the death of nine victims by a gunman aiming at residents of foreign heritage in five years prior.
